Ray Kohn

Ray Kohn's trademarked Envirolearn® system has attracted considerable international interest. This has been for two major reasons:

a) It provides practical advice on what teachers and building managers can do to help learners, often at no cost
b) It demonstrates how different learning methodologies can be enhanced by attention to the physical environment.

By acquiring the knowledge and understanding that lies behind Envirolearn, the capacity of institutional management has improved; and benefits have been felt amongst senior staff, teachers, architects, buildings officers and students.

Ray founded Quesco in 1997 and, in the previous 25 years, his jobs included Principal of Adult Education, Vice-Principal of a College of Further Education and Quality Manager of Europe’s largest FE college. After graduating from Cambridge in 1971, he had an early career as a company analyst, but his fascination with education led to him leaving the City to teach in schools, colleges, universities and community settings. His
students have included adults with severe learning difficulties, postgraduate education specialists, teenagers studying for exams and vocationally-focused trainees. He now lives in Nottingham, travelling all over the World as an education consultant.
