Professor Simon Roodhouse
Professor Simon Roodhouse has extensive
creative problem solving skills, is an effective strategic thinker,
and innovator who can provide incisive analysis, construct resource
profiles, and harness concepts from a wide variety of sources to create
deliverable strategies at local, national and international levels.
He has substantial experience of education
training and research in the area of vocational education and training.
He founded, and is the Chief Officer of, the UK’s Universities
Vocational Awards Council after years of working at regional, national
and international levels as a senior management positions in Higher
Education. He has an extensive knowledge of 16 –19 year education
and training provided by further education.
He has also undertaken work for the National Training Organisation National
Council as a strategic adviser on higher education and National Vocational
qualifications. More recently he was an adviser to the Employer Champions
Group, a Department for Education and Skills sponsored committee engaged
in assessing the relevance and value of national occupational standards
and National Vocational qualifications to employers.
