Val Mackenzie runs one of the most successful

organise effective basic skills and learning support programmes. After
many years managing diverse groups of staff, she launched her own company
– Learning Curve Associates – in 1998 and has worked for
UK government agencies and featured as a keynote speaker in national
conferences. She has worked with a large number of statutory agencies
on policy and strategy that has enabled them to make progress in their
curriculum development activities. Her work on dyslexia and adult support
